In the Beginning…
Several years ago, I worked for a retail shoe company. They over estimated the community where I live and closed after two short years. I had spent every hour the store was open working. For nearly two years, I didn’t have much time to myself or away from work. I was miserable and needing a change. However, when the change came, it was dramatic.
I was now unemployed and having a hard time finding another job. I applied to every place I could think of without going back to fast food, which is what I had been doing for a long time. At some point, I realized that fast food was not a job a person should retire from. It takes a toll on the body after a while.
I had no job for nearly a year after the shoe store closed. So, besides applying to everything available outside of fast food, I wrote. I wrote a large portion of my memoir. Then I began researching publishing and self-publishing. This search led me to begin considering publishing my small book on my own. I began looking into creating my own book and how to bind the book. One video led to another, which led me into junk journaling. I could make my own journals and journals for others? Okay. Count me in! I was hooked!
I began learning everything I could - and still am. This was the beginning of something interesting, calming, fun, and enjoyable.
