Inspiration

It begins with an idea. Wanting to create something, but being aware that what my mind’s eye sees is not what will end up on the page in front of me. So, what do I do? I search for alternative methods of expressing myself. Journaling and creating journals is that alternative method for me.

I’m a writer who has had the desire to become an artist since I can remember. I write poetry. I cannot draw a stick figure without making it look like a hunchback with major deformities. So, I can’t draw. But what about painting; perhaps something impressionist-like. I’m horrible with getting that particular shade just right. I can get close, but then…somewhere it goes drastically wrong.

I am not that kind of artist, but yet, I am an artist. The journals I create are my own type of art. Where I place the lace or ribbon - that small bit of texture; that is art. It is an artistic creation… I can finally call myself an artist.
